Visually impaired people rely on textual image descriptions to consume visual content on public service. However, how to produce image descriptions in a scalable and reliable way is still an unsolved problem.
In cooperation with Dutch National Library (KB), this project is aimed to study the requirements of visually impaired people on image description to set the basis for describing images through a crowd-sourcing
approach. According to the needs of various stakeholders, a framework for an interactive image description system is proposed and verified.

This project is aimed to enable humans to
break through the barricades of shared discomfort in public spaces by creating unanticipated connections, adding a third space between private and public with novel interactions.
